Eryn Schon-Brunner and Dancers:
Eryn Schon-Brunner and Dancers, a contemporary dance company based in Mendocino County, was created in 2014.
Currently working with local and national dancers.
Artistic Choreographic Statement:
It is through choreography that Eryn is able to express what resides inside the body. It is through choreography that ideas are explored, that questions are asked and answered and asked again, that images come to life, and that movement speaks. For Eryn, choreography is where life meets the art of dance, where space is held for simple feeling, where movements and moments collide in truth, and where magic happens.
To commission a piece of choreography to be set on your dancers or company, please contact Eryn at: [email protected].

Between the Lines. Choreographed 2015 by Eryn Schon-Brunner,
Danced by Mendocino College Repertory Dance Company
"Between the Lines" investigates how digital and printed media impact us over time—the roller coaster ride of true versus “fake” news, the manipulation of our feelings, the power of the written and spoken words we call "news." Where do we hold the information we take into our minds, how does it affect us, what do we do with it? Originally created as a solo in 2001 in response to the 9/11 tragedy, this piece has evolved to incorporate many more bodies and experiences regarding the current news climate. The dancers draw on what they find in today’s newspaper to weave their truth into each performance.

Raveled Thirst. Choreographed 2015 by Eryn Schon-Brunner,
Danced by Natalie Meuniot
"Raveled Thirst" explores the surprise of movement, by pushing the edge of balance against the dancer's awareness of instigation. Working with the pull of water and the unsteadiness of our feet, we will play with the edge of stability and the emotional tension that results.

Cycles. Choreographed 2014 by Eryn Schon-Brunner
Music composed by Johna
Commissioned by Jacksonville Dance Theater for its 2014/2015 Season.
"Cycles" is acknowledgement of repetition. With the belief that all must start somewhere perhaps with the breath, and then repeats itself, forming variations and extensions of itself, then cycling though again.
